Get connected…to community, social, health and government services in Bruce and Grey Counties.

As the United Way of Bruce Grey works to bring the 211 Information and Referral service to Bruce and Grey Counties, they are pleased to announce a significant milestone in this project.

The launch of “Information Bruce Grey” makes public access to a full resource of services, organizations, projects and agencies possible. Individuals, service workers, family members and the public at large, can search for organizations or themes in the quest to improve their lives and the lives of the clients they serve.

It is often assumed that people in crisis know who to call to get help, but this is not always true.  There is also an assumption that services share and inform clients as to all the options and related services that could help them, but often out of a fear of being overwhelmed, many services do not promote all that they can do.

Access to information became a priority for the United Way of Bruce Grey during its community consultation project "Community Matters".  This announcement is the fulfillment of that priority.

It is hoped that in less than 2 years the United Way will be able to hand over this resource to the 211 system so that the information will not only be accessible by Internet, but also by a voice on the end of a telephone.

In the meantime, the United Way is fulfilling a commitment to the community to make access to information not only a priority but also a reality.
